The Covid pandemic safety measures ask(ed) for a sustainable solution to the use of face masks. Suzanne Dikker’s masks are hand sewn on a small scale in her studio in The Netherlands. They are made out of hand dyed fabric scraps from past collections. This way, these left overs are given a second chance. The speckled pattern is achieved by using a sprinkling technique, that gently covers wet fabric in highly concentrated colour pigments. Once the pigments are absorbed by the material, they subtly fan out and form a rich spectrum of colourful hues.

The 100% silk masks are extremely soft on the skin, lightweight, breathable and hypoallergenic.

By generating static energy the fibers are believed to create an anti viral barrier. Thanks to adjustable straps and a metal nose bridge, the face mask neatly follows the cheek and neck line and therefore fits all sizes.

The masks are (hand) washable at 60 degrees C. They are available in matte crêpe de chine or smooth silk satin and in various colour ways. Please contact for custom orders or check out stocked items in the webshop.

I wrap you for ever

Unique, handmade pieces tell a story about nostalgia. About the urge to preserve the past in its original form. ‘‘I noticed that I had been unconsciously wrapping objects for years. Mostly because I liked the packaging of things, but I also became aware of the fact that I wanted these objects to remain untouched. They were too precious to become subject to decay. Since craftsmanship is an important part of my work, I made a collection which mainly consists out of multiple layers of hand dyed and hand knitted materials, wrapped up in transparent PVC overcoats and latex dresses.’’
